About the Library

Dum Dum Motijheel Rabindra Mahavidyalaya college central library was set up from the beginning of the college. The main objective of the library is to disseminate information to the students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the colleges. The college posses a stock of near 18,000 books on different subjects and a number of journals and periodicals. With a long tradition of combine efforts of all the staff of the library, we have to meet the pressing demands of the users by rendering various services through both manual and digital mode. The college library has a comfortable reading room (40 seats), where user can read documents as well as newspapers. The library staffs are always available for any assistance required. There are provisions for computers within the reading room to provide free and fast access to internet, which enables the students and staff to enrich and update themselves. Local Area Network (LAN) connection exists in the library including wireless and WiFi network throughout the library premises. Users are able to connect the library computers as well as their own devices through the library network.


The library security surveillance system is equipped with modern CCTV cameras. The Library is computerized with SOUL library management software. The College has become a member of the N-LIST (National Library and Information services infrastructure for scholarly content) consortium of INFLIBNET, so that access to e-resources could be provided to the members of the Central Library.


SEMINAR LIBRARY: In addition to the Central Library, 13 departments offering honour and general courses have separate Seminar Libraries, for their students. It contains specialized books that the students can borrow with the permission from the Head of the Departments. The functioning of the Seminar Library is monitored by the departments concerned.
